The NON-FICTION mini cycle for 8 musicians features a fictionalized correspondance between poetess Emilie Quinton and myself. The composition was conceived for Negative Zed ensemble based in Vancouver (Ca) through a tribute project to James Tenney's own postal cards pieces. Poems were written by Emilie after visiting Chaïm Soutine's exhibition which took place in the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris, 2013. Musical replies to the texts were written at the back of 10 postal cards, including inevitable winks to Moussorsky's master work Pictures At An Exhibition.
